FSSAI Central License - Overview


FSSAI is a Regulatory body established & governed by Food Safety & Standard Act, 2006. This Act empowers FSSAI to ensure the safety of Food products delivered to the customers. FSSAI is accountable for protecting and promoting Public health. FSSAI also holds the authorization to penalize Food business operators if they don಑t oblige rules & Regulations of FSSAI.

FSSAI is mandatory for All types of Food operators such as Food product Manufactures , Food traders , Food Operators etc
There are three types of Registration according to the size or scale f the business. Basic FSSAI license, FSSAI State license & Central FSSA license.

Central FSSAI License is issued to Food businesses which turnover of more than 20 Crores INR. License should be hold by Food Business operators dealing with Importers of food products, manufacturers of food products, Operators in central government, Railways, seaports, airports etc The Validity of license is maximum of 5 years and a minimum of 1 year

Documents Required For Registration

  • Filled & signed form A .File & Submit Form A online .
  • Identity Proof of Business operators, such as aadhar card and Voter ID/ Passport/ Driving License.
  • Address Proof of Business operators, such as the latest Telephone Bill /Electricity Bill/ Bank Account Statement.
  • Drafting of MoA, AoA & other required documents and Filing of the EMoa and EAOA
  • Passport size photograph of Business operators.
  • Business Address Proofs such as latest Electricity Bill/ Telephone Bill of the registered office address
  • NOC or No Objection Certificate to be obtained from the owner(s) of registered office
  • Rent Agreement is needed if the registered office is a rented place.
  • Food Safety Management plan Detailed plan on safety operations.
  • Form B Form B Duly signed & completed.
  • Blueprint of operating unitPlan of the processing unit showing the dimensions and operation-wise area allocation
  • List of Equipment & machinery Name and list of equipment and machinery used with the number and installed capacity
  • Letter of Authorization Authority letter from manufacturer nominated a responsible person name and address

Process To Register

  • Form A Registration.
  • Verification of Documents
  • Registration form can be approved or rejected within 7-15 days.
  • Registration number will be granted if all required criteria was met
