FSSAI Annual Return - Overview
Food safety & Standard act 2006 was introduced by Government of India in the aim of regulating food industry. FSSAI is mandatory for all business operators involved in Sale, Manufacturing, Distribution, storage, Imports & Exports of Food related products in India. FSSAI license should be displayed at working place of the Food Business operators. The 14 Digit License number should also be printed on the backside of the food product.
All Food Related Business operators should file Annual Returns. Business operators involved in Milk & Diary products should file Twice in a year. FSSAi annual return should be filed by businesses whose turnover exceeds 12 Lakhs INR
There are two types of Annual Return forms namely FSSAI form D1 & FSSAI form D2. Form D1 is to be registered by Food operators involved in manufacturing, Distributing, packaging of Food Products. Form D1 should be submitted on 0r before 31st may of every year. Form D2 is to be registered by food operators involved in manufacturing, distributing, packaging of Milk & Diary products. Form D2 should be submitted between 1st April to 30th September and between 1st of October to 31st of March of every year.
Details Required For Annual Return
- Food product name which is being manufactured, exported, imported, or handled.
- Size of the bottle, Size of the can or Size of any other package.
- Quantity in a metric ton.
- Food Product Value.
- Quantity in kgs in which the food product are being exported or imported.
- Selling price of the food products (per unit or per kg)
- List of the countries in which food products are exported.
- Mandatory Last FSSAI Annual Returns.
Process To Register
- Penalty for Late or Non-submission of Annual Returns:Annual Return for the Food Business operators should be submitted before 31st May of each year. Failing to Submit will lead to Fine of NR 100 per day till the date of submission of Annual Return .
